Join us as we tour the newly completed Panda Stonewall Power Project in Loudoun County
We will be touring the newly completed Panda Stonewall Power Project in Leesburg, VA. The Panda Stonewall Power Project is a clean natural gas-fueled, 778-megawatt combined-cycle generating station. The newly completed plant is capable of supplying the power needs of up to 778,000 homes. Panda Power Funds’ partners in developing the Stonewall project included Bechtel Development, a subsidiary of the Bechtel Corporation, and Green Energy Partners/Stonewall, the project’s original developer. Arrive at the front gate by 10:30 AM. That morning, we will have someone greet us at the gate and provide directions to the meeting room. Parking will be adjacent to the front gate up on the hill and will require walking down to the administration building. Attire is leather shoes, no open toes, business casual. The staff at the station will provide hard hats, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
Our Host Mark A. Kadon is Panda Stonewall’s General Plant Manager. In this capacity, he directs all of Panda Stonewall’s operational and maintenance activities and will host a brief on the station prior to our tour of the facilities.
Prior to becoming the GM in 2016, Kadon was the General Plant Manager overseeing Panda’s Sherman CCGT Plant in north Texas. Kadon has been with Panda Power Funds since 2013. With more than 25 years industry experience, Kadon has spent nearly his whole career on, or close to the deck plates – Prior to joining Panda Power Funds, Kadon held various positions with Sithe Energies and InterGen, including instrumentation and controls technician, O&M supervisor, and plant manager for power stations in NewYork, Oklahoma, and Thailand. Kadon has personally led the successful startup of multiple large CCGT facilities in the US and globally. Kadon started his career by serving in the U.S. Navy as a gas turbine electrician.
