The Association of Energy Engineers (National AEE), founded in 1977, is a nonprofit professional society of over 11,000 members in 78 countries. The AEE specializes in training, membership development, chapter development, and certification for professionals practicing in the fields of energy management, renewable energy and green buildings. The AEE offers a full array of informational outreach programs including seminars (live and internet based), conferences, journals, books, and certification programs.
The National Capital Chapter (NCC) is the local, chapter level organization of the National AEE in the Washington, DC metropolitan region. The NCC is a local organization providing information and support to local energy professionals. NCC activities benefit the careers and work of energy professionals and the studies (through scholarships) of engineering students throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan region.
To become a member of either the National AEE or the NCC, you must separately join and pay dues to each organization. However, you do not need to be a member of the National AEE to be a member of the NCC. And, it is easy and inexpensive to join the NCC – in fact, for students, membership is free! Others pay just $25 annually. Membership quickly pays for itself through reduced admission rates to NCC events.
