Eric D. Wachsman, Ph.D.
Thank you very much for your kind attention and we look forward to seeing you.
Association of Energy Engineers - National Capital Chapter
Thanks to the University of Maryland for their willingness to open their labs up for our tours!
Join us as we tour the TWO University of Maryland Energy labs!
We will be touring the Energy Research Center as well as the Center for Environmental Energy Engineering. Both tours will be led by each center's respective Director. These centers of research are developing the technologies and human capabilities to move the human race towards a more sustainable energy future.
This tour is limited to a maximum of 40 participants. It is sure to sell out quickly. Do not delay, register today.
Dr. Radermacher is the Driector of the Center for Environmental Energy Engineering, which is is a leader in research and education in environmentally responsible, economically feasible integrated energy conversion systems for buildings and transportation. Research focuses in particular on air-conditioning, refrigeration and heat pumping and integrated cooling heating and power systems. The Center also provides software for the design and analysis of such systems with integrated optimization capabilities for lowest cost and best performance. The center operates three consortia based on the research pursued by each group. The consortia are: Energy Efficiency and Heat Pumps (EEHP) - formerly Alternative Cooling Technologies and Application, Advanced Heat Exchangers and Process Intensification (AHXPI) - formerly Advanced Heat Exchanger/Electronic Cooling, and Modeling and Optimization (MO) - formerly Integrated Systems Optimization

Dr. Wachsman is the Director of the University of Maryland Energy Research Center (UMERC), which is a multidisciplinary initiative dedicated to advancing the frontiers of energy science and technology, with a special focus on forward-looking approaches for alternative energy generation and storage. UMERC brings together the research capabilities necessary to create a sustainable energy future, with faculty expertise in both energy technology and policy. Dr. Wachsman's research is focused fuel cells and hydrogen energy research. His group works specifically on solid ion-conducting materials and electrocatalysts, and includes the development of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC), solid-state batteries, ion-transport membrane reactors, solid-state gas sensors, and the electrocatalytic conversion of CH4, CO2, and NOx, using advanced ion conducting materials.
