Reporting Relationship The Alternative Energy Engineer will report to the Chief Executive Officer.
Mission Statement An Alternative Energy Engineer with existing corporate/regulatory/ market knowledge is required to start a division in alternative energy. The person in this position will provide current market expertise in products and installation and maintenance practices to WRS in order to help management start the business and also manage field projects as the business develops.
Responsibilities
· Work with current WRS management and function as the product manager in defining the product/service set to take to market.
· Assess deliverable need, prepare budget and schedule/ communicate resource requirements to management.
· Establish product and installation subcontractor vendor relationships.
· Interact with customers and visit proposed installation sites to understand the most cost effective interconnection means.
· Provide subject matter expert advice to the WRS marketing / sales team to aid the development of marketing materials.
· Perform project management to ensure successful execution of customer contracts.
· Build models and perform technical and economic analyses of projects and technologies.
· Provide mentorship to other team members in the concept and design of solar energy projects.
· Ensure systems design and installation quality.
Candidate Profile The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
· 2+ years of significant experience in the areas of sustainability, air quality, environmental compliance, process design, energy management and alternative energy.
· Experience in whole-building energy modeling for the purpose of evaluating alternative with the lowest possible lifecycle costs.
· Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and final working drawings.
· Expertise in designing and installing commercial and residential photovoltaic systems.
· Deep knowledge of current universe of vendors and available systems and components.
· Expertise in Solar Thermal Transfer systems. Experience designing and installing hot water and heat systems is desirable.
· Understanding of regulatory frameworks and issues around solar systems. Particularly around building code and safety as well as tax incentives.
· Must possess technical knowledge of related engineering systems and applications, engineering calculations, construction methods and materials.
· Some knowledge of small scale urban and suburban wind systems and other alternative energy systems is also desirable.
Education Requirements Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering, Master’s in Electrical Engineering preferred.
NABCEP certification and / or electrical contractors license are also desirable.

=>Project focus on examining baseline and ongoing utility consumption data from various energy and environmental parameters, provide independent assessments of projected ROIs, establish rules and data stream pattern-matching algorithms for normalization and occupancy adjustments among large property portfolio, and remotely evaluate energy data anomalies using internally developed state-of-the-art energy monitoring and reporting tools.
